This pic is very different to what I usually draw. Style and motivation-wise.
This is a pic I drew using a ref of my cat Sheba, who passed away today. We'd had her 14 years so needless to say I'm pretty gutted, and I wanted to do a memorial kind of picture to make me feel better.
I have never drawn an animal before (bar when I was at school but that was so long ago it doesn't count) and I didn't really want to do it in my usual cartoony style so I tried for something more realistic. I am not likely to draw again this way, I don't like it, but drawing this made me feel better anyway, so objective achieved.

Yeah, she had weird eyes. She was old and blind. I'll miss her loads.

But I definately had to recheck who drew this like 3 times.
My own cats are getting older now themselves. I hope they'll live long, happy, healthy lives even though both of them are disabled in some way due to passed problems. my condolences for your cat. it's hard to lose a close friend.
And psht, i BEG GOD to let me draw realistic cats like this. i WISH. It's a fitting memorial.
